Insta-G Me Happy

 

The 12th of September 2014 saw the end of an era in terms of my Instagram account. For the last one hundred days I have uploaded a photo of something/someone who have made me happy that day. These photos have ranged from Elmo pjs, to best friends and to concerts with everything in between.

        Surprisingly, this “challenge” has set me up well for the Leaving Cert year (well that’s what I tell mom) because some days there were obvious happy moments that made me smile and it was easy to upload a photo. Other times, it was a complete and utter pain in my ass.

        Similarly, there are days at school, which I am happy to admit, fly by. Classes seem to be shorter, your school bag isn’t breaking your back and teachers aren’t starting every sentence with “well you won’t be able to tell the corrector that “Devious Maids” was on that night.” Those are the days that the Leaving Cert worries float away and you are able to enjoy the final year.

        Then you have the “pain in my ass” days. You know the days where stress is at maximum and sleep is at a minimum par exemple, last weeks “Tragic Thursday”. But you get through it with every learned off date of your History essay.

        Basically the Instagram challenge was sometimes tough but you know what? I got through it. This Leaving Cert is sometimes tough and rough and annoying and stupid and painful and exasperating and exhausting and and and….. Sorry but sometimes it’s hard to stop. Anyway what I meant to say that yeah, it’s tough but you know what? We can get through it.

 

So let’s just take the LC as the Insta G challenge. One day at a time.

P.S. Also learned that Elmo pjs get more likes than a Kanye West concert (soz Yeezy).
