Say It Ain’t So

With September done and dusted and talks of Christmas tests floating through the airwaves it is safe to say that the LC train is moving fast and if you blink you could miss it. For example in Mondays Maths class we were told that it is 28 weeks to the start of the exams. Excuse me? What was that? Did someone say something? 28 weeks? I have to admit that I had to ask my teacher to repeat himself twice in an attempt to get the statistic into my head. It all just seemed too unbelievable. How could it be 28 weeks when studying for French goes on for 56 weeks? Quite an exaggeration but you catch my drift.

Now once meeting people the same mundane question is asked of me with ever eager eyes; “so what are you planning on doing next year?” Which is always followed by my dumbfounded expression “ammmm catch up on the sleep/ tv I missed throughout LC?” They laugh but I wasn’t joking. Truth is I have no idea. I want to go into radio but unfortunately there is no wish granting fairy handing me what I want on a plate with ice cream on the side. Instead I have prospectuses filling up my locker and causing pain when carrying them for too long (shout out to James, who relieved my arms from their duties. Sound.)

As the LC Warrior for Leaving Cert Countdown I must admit something… From a young age I always had my head wrapped around the idea of getting into a wonderful college with a degree that kept me interested for the full duration of the course. I believed in getting a good job and getting married and supporting a family. But now I cannot shake the overwhelming feeling of buying a one way ticket, travelling, meeting new people, eating new food and generally not being bothered.

I know what you are thinking “well this escalated quickly” and I agree with you, it has. But 28 weeks will also escalate quickly. 28 weeks. 28 actual weeks. Someone say it ain’t so.

Until next week ;) Xx

Something that made me happy this week..

Molly and I preparing for a French test the only way we know. By telling each other that we are both f@#$@ed!
